Super Bowl Sunday 2012

Per our usual Super Bowl Sunday tradition, we spent the day in Heber sledding then went out to dinner. My kind of football celebration! Thanks to Groupon, Soldier Hollow was more crowded than normal, but still not really crowded. We had to wait once or twice for the tow rope but not for more than a minute or so. The thing very noticeable this year was the lack of snow. The sledding hill was covered in snow, but it was mostly man-made. It was also really warm. We all started off in our warm clothes and kept taking off layers as the day went on. It was a fun day and the boys loved it!
The boys are playing on a big pile of snow that is right next to one of the snow making machines. You can see over their shoulders how little snow there really is.

22-17 in OT

Yesterday was the first playoff game for our basketball team. The boys have not had the best season and have not had a lot of wins. The playoffs are single elimination so I think a lot of people expected to be done with the season last night. The boys came out on fire, played aggressive, and played as a team. We were ahead by a few points most of the game, but the other team managed to tie it up and put the game into overtime.  The boys kept their momentum up and pulled ahead 22-17.  I would not be surprised if our season ends with our next game tomorrow (I hope not), but the way they played last night they should be proud. I know I am!

Ninja!

For a while now I've needed a new small chopper. Not a big all out food processor, just something to cut up a few things here and there. I had one that you cranked by hand, but over the years the blade had gotten so dull that it was really a workout to chop an onion. A few weeks ago at Target I just happen to see this little guy. I'll admit, the thing that caught my eye was the color.  When I saw that it was Ninja I was hooked.  Between the color, the brand and the price of $19.99 I was sold! This little baby is great! It can chop an onion literally in seconds. It has so much power that if you are not careful you'll liquify your veggies. I give it 5 stars. If only I could figure out how to make little stars with a keyboard shortcut!

Titanic!

During the cold months, Saturday night at our house is family movie night. The boys fight over what we are going to watch, we pop some corn, drag out the pillows & blankets and curl up for a lazy evening. Last weekend we watched Titanic. The boys had never seen it before. Since then they are both intreguied by it. Preston has been looking it up online & both boys were carrying around Titanic books at the school book fair.

We finally got some snow last week and Parker was out playing. He came running in the house so excited to show me his Titanic. He was so proud!

Best Birthday Ever!

A few weeks ago, it was my 21, 25, 29, 32, 35 Birthday! It was low key. The boys took me out to dinner & we just hung out. The highlight of the day was Preston's Basketball game. This is his first year playing, and he does not have any confidence. This game he really got into, he was trying hard, and he made his first TWO baskets ever! I was so happy that I had big ole tears in my eyes! I could not have had a better birthday!
