Just One.....

Ok. I know in about 4-6 weeks I am going to be very sick of zucchini. I'll be leaving it on the roadside with a sign "please take me home". But for now, I am way excited we have our first veggie in our new garden!
He was delicious sliced and thrown on the grill with a little pepper and butter. Yum!!!

Yucky Dinner!

A few weeks ago I made lasagna for dinner. Both of my boys absolutely hate lasagna. At our house we have a rule that you can eat the meal that is offered, or we'll catch you at the next meal. I am not one of those mom's who will make a separate dinner for my kids.  Mean, mom I know. So when lasagna was offered both of the boys chose to have one piece of garlic bread, and headed outside to play. When I was cleaning up the kitchen I looked out and they had discovered that the strawberry patch was pretty full and ready to be picked. Forget what mom says, they'll get their own dinner!
I don't think they had any idea that I saw them. It was pretty cute!

Mud Pool!

The kids are seriously getting impatient waiting for us to get them the promised swimming pool. Trust me boys, I'm losing patience with it too.  They just decided to take matters in their own hand and make their own. It took me a good week of soaking those clothes in buckets to get the mud out. They loved every minute of it!

School's Out for Summer!

The boys' last day of school was back on May 25th. I am just slow posting. The last week of school they have Field Day and it is total chaos and it is so fun for the kids. They have inflatables, run various relay races, play kickball, dodge ball, basketball, tug-o-war, and other stuff I can't remember. Each year Travis takes the day off and he and our friend Devin are in charge of dodge ball. They both fit right in with the kids and they have so much fun. This was Preston's last year for Field Day. Next year they take all of the fifth-graders bowling for their elementary school graduation. I absolutely hate that Preston only has one year of elementary school left!

Ok, stupid me. I forgot to take my camera. Seriously?!? It is practically my third arm and I forgot it. I was not happy to be taking pictures with my iPhone. I know that people just rave about photo quality on the iPhone. Yea, it is fine for a phone but it just doesn't cut it for me. I took probably 30 pictures and only got a few that were not blurry. The color is fine with the phone, but the clarity is just not there. I won't be forgetting my third arm again!

Teacher Gifts!

Yet another year of school is over. Yikes! Time goes way too fast! At the end of each year I normally make a little something for the teachers and give them a small gift to go with it. When the kids are in younger grades I try to do something with the kids' photos. Both boys have a teacher and an aid in the classroom. I do a bit more for the teacher than the aid, but still need to get four gifts.
I made these for the teachers. I am really into Subway Art right now, but I don't like these. They are two sided, one side with teacher words and one side with student words. I almost didn't give them to the teachers because I think they are stupid. However, I didn't want to go and spend more money to buy something else.
I made this for Parkers's teacher who I absolutely love. She is the best teacher that either of my boys have had. I am going to miss her! I used the pictures that the class had taken to make Mother's Day gifts and just put them on a magnet board. It worked out for me that I was in charge of printing all of the pictures for Mother's Day. I ran home and copied the cd before I took them back to school. I have all the kids' names under the saying, but I've blurred them out for my blog.  When Parker's teacher opened this she thanked me for making her cry. I guess that's good.
I also got some bread, jam and cookies at Kneaders and put cute bows on it all. Gotta love Kneaders!
